For over a century, we’ve been committed to our community. This means we’re responsible to our neighbors, our farmers, and our local businesses. Your goals become our own. And your dreams become our work. We’re a team of bankers, investors, lenders, and consultants. But more than all these things, we’re a group of people who serve the people around us. We’re committed to seeing Michigan grow, our neighbors prosper, and our employees enjoy a meaningful career. We believe this is our responsibility as the community bank in Michigan: to honor those that trust us with their livelihood.
Mission Statement Our mission at ChoiceOne Bank is to provide superior service, quality advice, and show utmost respect to everyone we meet.
Community service has always been a fundamental aspect of our mission. Every year ChoiceOne Bank becomes more involved in the active support of growing our communities because vibrant communities nurture strong, healthy families and businesses. Our employees give countless hours to our communities in their service as ChoiceOne Bank Ambassadors. ChoiceOne continues its tradition of support to hundreds of community organizations with time, equipment, in-kind and monetary donations.
Local Sparta leaders identify a need for Sparta residents to have a safe place to deposit their money and fund small businesses. With only $15,000 in capital, Sparta State Bank is incorporated and opens on the corner of Division and Union Street in 1902.
Kent City Bank experiences success during the depression, no depositor loses any money and 100% of deposits earn interest.
Sparta State Bank renames to ChoiceOne and Kent City renames to Valley Ridge after merging with Grant State Bank. Both banks continue to grow and add branches to serve local communities.
ChoiceOne Financial Services and Valley Ridge Financial Corp merge along with their subsidiaries, both retaining the ChoiceOne namesake. This merger results in 14 branch offices, numerous ATM locations, and a widened array of products and services to serve West Michigan communities. Meanwhile, LCBT merged with CSB. The banks combined to create Lakestone Bank & Trust.
The merge of ChoiceOne Bank, Lakestone Bank & Trust, and Community Shores Bank is official; expanding the footprint of ChoiceOne Bank to 33 locations across the state of Michigan from lakeshore to lakeshore. Both merges have leveraged the best technology, most innovative services, and lucrative products from each bank.
