ChoiceOne Supports TrueNorth Community Services

Fremont, Michigan – August 17, 2016

Beginning the first year of a three-year commitment; ChoiceOne donated their time and money to TrueNorth Community Services (TrueNorth) to better the lives of the surrounding communities; including Newaygo County.

Phil Gabel, TrueNorth’s Volunteer Services Manager said; “This donation allows us to continue to serve those in the area who need assistance. This summer, one of our focuses was our event -Tools for Schools for Newaygo County.”

The Tools for Schools event occurred on Tuesday August, 9. In preparation for the school year, many kids are in need of backpacks and supplies. TrueNorth wanted to make sure students K-12 in the community were prepared to go back to school. With a goal to hand out 1,000 backpacks to low income families; the program to date has given out 884 backpacks filled with school supplies.

The ChoiceOne team sponsored the event, and it won’t be their last. With a three-year commitment, they express their excitement to continue this partnership with TrueNorth. President of ChoiceOne, Kelly Potes said, “We are pleased to support TrueNorth Community Services. This organization has provided great work and services to the people within the community and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them.”
