Jean-Paul (JP) Avallone, Mortgage Loan Officer – Central Market
JP Avallone has been helping people navigate home financing for 30 years. He has worked across nearly every corner of the mortgage world from small brokers to major financial institutions. Over the years, he has also been part of the mortgage wholesale side working with brokerage companies.
Avallone has completed training in a wide range of loan programs including FHA, VA, USDA, and Conventional. He also stays current on MSHDA guidelines and down payment assistance programs to better serve Michigan buyers. Giving back is important to Avallone who regularly volunteers at local housing education events and supports initiatives that promote financial literacy and homeownership.
Bradley Cook, Mortgage Loan Officer – West Market
Brad Cook joins ChoiceOne with 24 years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator. Working with several financial institutions and mortgage loan companies over the course of his career, including three years with ChoiceOne Bank, Cook has always customized loan packages for his prospective and existing customers based on analysis of their financial situations and individual needs.
Cook achieved Grand Rapids Magazine and Grand Rapids Business Journal’s Loan Officers All-Stars in 2020. He is a Van Andel Institute JBoard Ambassador and a member of the Golf Association of Michigan.
William Eggett, Assistant Vice President, FHA DE Mortgage Underwriter – East Market
Bill Eggett joins ChoiceOne with over 25 years of mortgage underwriting experience working with banks and mortgage companies located within Oakland County. He has a vast knowledge of mortgage loan programs and is able to underwrite complex mortgages such as FHA, FNMA, and FHLMC. In addition, Eggett provides leadership, guidance and direction regarding loan programs, decisions and investor regulations.
Eggett studied accounting and finance at Macomb Community College in Macomb. After completing specialized training, Eggett received the FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) certification and the VA Lender Appraisal Processing Program (LAPP)/Staff Appraisal Reviewer (SAR) designation. Eggett is a supporter and child sponsor with Compassion International. He was an assistant youth baseball coach for eight years and coached junior varsity high school bowling for three years.
Bryan Riley, Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer – Central Market
Bryan Riley joins ChoiceOne with over 30 years of commercial lending and business banking experience with several community and regional banks in Central Michigan. Most recently, Riley served as Vice President, Middle Market Community Banking for a regional bank responsible for the growth and management of a middle market commercial loan portfolio.
Riley has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Detroit Mercy, Detroit. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) through Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, with a concentration in Finance and Economics.
Lindsay Spitler, Vice President, SBA Program Manager – West Market
Lindsay Spitler joins ChoiceOne with 26 years of commercial banking experience with a community bank, regional bank and national bank all within the Grand Rapids market. She began her career as a Credit Analyst and has held positions as Vice President, Government Guaranteed Lending Specialist; Vice President, Business Banking Relationship Manager; Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer to her most recent position as Vice President, Commercial Credit Underwriter.
Spitler has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, with concentrations in Accounting and Finance. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) through Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, with a major in Finance. Spitler also has the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders Certification. In addition, Spitler has graduated from several commercial lending programs through the Michigan Bankers Association and various communications, sales and networking courses through Nancy Skinner & Associates, now part of Varnum Consulting LLC.
Active in her community, Spitler is a Junior Achievement Champion and volunteer for over 20 years. She is a Board Member and Secretary for Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts, a Founding Board Member of Women’s Lead Network for Grand Rapids since 2018, and a Member of inForum West Michigan since 2009.
Stephen Wizgird, Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer – Central Market
Steve Wizgird joins ChoiceOne with 25 years of commercial banking experience with several financial institutions in Southern Michigan. He progressed through his career holding various roles including Credit Analyst, Vice President Relationship Manager, Vice President Commercial Lender, Senior Vice President SBA Specialist.
Wizgird has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance from Cleary University, Howell. He also has his Associate Broker, Real Estate License through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Active in his community, Wizgird is a member of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer with the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance as a speaker on discussion panels and participating in Launchpad events. In addition, he has participated in many speaking engagements, putting together a panel of Commercial Real Estate experts including title company, lender, Realtor, contractor and engineer working with several chambers to deliver information to the community. He is a past Rotarian and a past board member of the Michigan Business Broker Association.
