ChoiceOne Bank Recruits Amber Behrendt as VP Business Development

“We are pleased to welcome Amber to the business development team in our new full-service Grand Rapids office,” said ChoiceOne Bank President and CEO Kelly Potes. “Amber is an experienced banker with a successful career in business development including both personal and commercial lending. Her broad financial knowledge along with her passion to serve, will prove valuable as we expand our community bank franchise throughout Michigan.”

Behrendt began her banking career over 21 years ago at Independent Bank in Newaygo and moved into the role of branch management in Howard City and later into the position of Vice President Community Banker in Grand Rapids. Her most recent position was with Flagstar Bank in Grand Rapids where she was responsible for developing and maintaining small business relationships. She has extensive expertise in commercial loans, merchant services and treasury management. In her new role with ChoiceOne Bank, Amber will work in Grand Rapids and report to Market Executive Troy Butler.  

Active in the Grand Rapids community, Behrendt is a board member of Home Repair Services, and a member of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and the ATHENA Organization. She graduated from the Robert Perry School of Banking and is seeking her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant.

“Amber comes to us with the banking experience needed to present complete financial solutions to our broadening customer base,” said Potes. “Our customers will appreciate her caring and superior service, along with her high quality financial advice.”
